Pawtucket Rising is a new documentary (2011) film about the unlikely story of the revitalization of the city of Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Pawtucket was once a burgeoning mill city. It is the home to the Slater Mill, the birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution. Pawtucket’s fortunes fell when the country plummeted into the great depression and it has never fully recovered. When artists could no longer afford the skyrocketing real estate in nearby Providence they were forced to take their business elsewhere. This influx of arts has boosted Pawtucket’s economy. Mayor James E. Doyle recognized that The Arts could be an important catalyst in his city’s revitalization. The city seized the opportunity to invite these small businesses to relocate to Pawtucket. As a result, Pawtucket is now restoring and renovating mill and industrial space that had once sat vacant and decaying. This documentary film shows the history of the past decade revitalization of the city. The city is experiencing its greatest boom in decades. Pawtucket is rising.

We’ve only been around a few months here at Underground Documentaries, but the site is catching on with a lot of folks.  Our hope in starting this site was that we would reach people with the truth.  We wanted a site where people could send their friends and family to “swallow the red pill” and break through the mainstream media lies.  We focused on documentaries because motion pictures, in the form of Hollywood movies and television, have done the most damage to humanity and the goals of individual freedom, self reliance, and health and vitality, and have buried truth in a heap of political correctness and deceit.

How are we doing?  What would you like to see on the site?  Do you have suggestions for new documentaries to post?  What new features would improve the site the most?  Forums?  News?  How can we build a bigger audience and spread the truth to more people?  We’re looking for some feedback.  We’re always looking for advertisers to secure the future of the site, but at this time, the ads pay for our upgraded server, so no financial support in the form of donations is needed – only your participation and help in sharing the resource with others.  What say you?
