Enrico Dini is on a quest to revolutionize the way we view construction. But with his family life in tatters, and his business on its knees – has he sacrificed too much for the greater good? The Man Who Prints Houses is a poignant, funny and awe-inspiring documentary that delves into the troubled mind of a genius intent on changing the world forever.

Enrico Dini is a robotics expert. He is also a self-styled ‘stone alchemist’: able to mimic the process of how rock forms under the seabed. Combining these two skills, he has developed a groundbreaking new construction technique based on the principle of 3D-printing. Enrico’s dream is to one day see houses of any shape and size printed robotically in solid stone – but as we all know, dreams can come at a price…

3D-printing is a method that physically realizes digital designs layer by layer using a fluid substance that can be hardened by lasers or other binding agents. To date, it’s been used for small-scale manufacturing and as architectural maquettes. Enrico, however, has far grander plans.

With exclusive access into all aspects of his life, this film follows Enrico as he strives to make his dream of large-scale 3D-printing a reality. From his ambitious business ideas, to financial problems and struggles in his family life, the film tells the story of a visionary inventor shackled by his life’s work.  More at www.themanwhoprintshouses.com

Trading on Thin Air explains the methods used by the financial oligarchy in the past to extract the wealth of the nation and shows how the same strategy is being used today to subvert a movement for conservation and sustainability and harness it in order to create the next big bubble.

  • I wantthe coke concession for the idiot who did your sound track with the intrusive, abrasive, unrelated racket that caused me to abandon ship half-way through. Your film editor was no slouch either. I found myself mentally hop-scotching throughout. …But you guys have to be killer cute!

As usual ‘music’ too loud so can’t hear what’s being said. HELLO – it’s a f***ing documentary – that means the message is in what’s being SAID, not your stupid music. This kind of thing now happens on far too many docs and makes them unwatchable. Get a pro mixer next time.

I think all these sites demanding emails for commenting abilities are lame….

Really tired of trumping up emails just to tell somebody/group they are wrong, it’s frustrating. Not only is my time wasted on a crappy site, or a crappy movie on a mediocre site in this case, I have to waste a few extra minutes and bandwidth producing a fake email to fool the commenting format. Total bullshit.
