Let me say that this film has excellent material as far as what is happening in the Southwest area of the country.
However, I cannot agree with your overall assessment of Miami. Miami has been built somewhat mostly on legal immigration, not illegal. Most foreigners, and descendants of foreigners in South Florida are either legal residents or citizens. But, they are the majority.
I will not deny that there are illegals. But they are the exception, not the rule. In my 50 plus years of living in the South Florida area, I barely encountered illegals.
However, in my two years of living in Southern California, I encountered very few legals.
So yes, I agree there is a problem there, and also in many other areas of country.
There is a possible solution to stopping the flow of additional illegal aliens into our country across the southern boarder. It would not be popular but it would work 100%. Declare war on Mexico! This would allow us to legally militarize our southern border with our Army. This would stop the flow 100%. Then we could declare a cease fire while we negotiate peace between our two countries. This would buy us the time that we need to get those who are already here illegally assimilated. Deport the ones who are gang members, criminals and part of the human and drug trafficking problem. Let the ones who have family south of the boarder go home peacefully and allows us to solve our problems. This time, maybe up to 40 years, would allows us to add some additional amendments to our constitution spelling out reforms to our immigration laws. We could then slowly start allowing legal immigration back to the 250,000 per year. We can fix these problems but we need to start with the toughest problems first if we want to get our country back to a proper normal. I live in Phoenix and I have traveled the whole state of Arizona for work. I travel 13 states for my job and I see the same problems everywhere I travel. It just is worse the closer you are to the southern border.

Sadness when I read this stuff.
Mexicans are natives. We have been here for over 40K years. We did not come on ships escaping religious tyrannie, we did not come on slave ships nor did we come on ocean liners. We have always been here. So many tribe from the continent have been destroyed forever.
The sad part are the people with dual citizenship’s, they never refer to themselves as Americans yet are a part of a tribe that is destroying our country. Mexicans enlist in the army to fight for these filthy bankers with the hope of surviving just to become an American.
You people with your hate of Mexicans are no different from the Israelis. The Palestinians are oppressed by the oppressors just as Mexicans are by the “white” people who have made them illegal in their ancestral lands.
When the shtf and “we” are then allowed to right so many wrongs maybe people will see who the real enemy is. It certainly is not the Mexicans.
No respect for the people the first people of this continent just like the Israelis.
