This is a film based on the book “Death of the Liberal Class” by journalist and Pulitzer prize winner, Chris Hedges.

It charts the rise of the Corporate State, and examines the future of obedience in a world of unfettered capitalism, globalisation, staggering inequality and environmental change.

The film predominantly focuses on US corporate capitalism, but it is my hope that the viewer can recognise the relevance of what is being expressed with regards to domestic political and corporate activity.

It was made completely of clips found on the web.

The story of Thanksgiving, with its costumed Pilgrims, turkeys and pumpkin pie, zigzags through American history with some surprising twists.
In the 19th Century, some southern states thought Thanksgiving was an abolitionist plot and refused to celebrate it and Thanksgiving didn’t become an annual national holiday until World War II.
Thanksgiving… What started as a somber Puritan day of prayer is now about commercial sales, football and food.
How did we get there?

So, in fact, the holiday was an outright thievery of original Native American Thanksgiving. As usually, stolen by the white Men.

Well at least you don’t have to feel obligated to buy presents. It’s kind of nice to take a rare break in the middle of the week and be with friends and family. No one is making you shop, watch tv or football. People that line up to go to walmart or kmart or minimart —it’s their lives.
