The fate of prisoners of war and missing in action is one of the darkest chapters of the Cold War. Tens of thousands of American soldiers European survivors were sent to unknown destinations during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War.

American soldiers captured in the Cold War – the enemy needs them as hostages and bargaining counters. Their own government denies their existence, leaving them to their fate.

Some escape and find their way home.  Others die in captivity – expecting the whole time that their government will “leave no Soldier behind” and rescue them.  Given the last century of American empire, this film is a shameful account of US government coverups, denials, and mishandling of POW situation.  The Red Cross has also been complicit – hiding records of prisoners of war to this day.

An interesting, informative and factual summary of the US financial health up to the end of the Bush era. It covers the growing deficit and debt of the nation, its effect on Social Security and our heavy dependence on foreign funds.

Most concerning is that this does not cover the enormous spending of the Obama Administration, which is borrowing far more money every year than the highest spending years of the Bush administration. Due to the recession, there is less money to pay the debt than there was three years ago.
