Those of you seemingly allergic to archaeological evidence, please, feel free to refute the claims made in this film with evidence of your own. If, however, you’re going to resort to namecalling and baseless statements, then I invite you to go fuck yourselves. There are many competing theories for who the first Americans were–new evidence suggests that nomadic hunter-gatherers from Asia made their way down the Pacific coast in boats, hopping from one ice-free coastal area to the next as they went. This started happening about 17-18,000 years ago. There is ample evidence for this, just as there is ALSO ample evidence for ice age Europeans being the first to reach the Atlantic coast. The ice-free corridor through the Bering land bridge didn’t open until about 13,500 years ago, by which point there had been human habitation in the Americas for at least 4,000 years–the finds showcased in this film alone prove this. Moreover, artifacts from this era found along the Atlantic coast are of the same make as those used in western Europe at the same time. You would have to be beyond stupid to ignore this compelling archaeological evidence.
Europeans AND Asians were the first settlers of this hemisphere, beginning probably around the same time, and lasting for centuries, possibly millennia. If that doesn’t fit your own convenient historical narrative then that is just too goddamned bad, evidence doesn’t lie.
In fact the Solutreans were not wiped out but integrated with Asians as they met in the middle. Study indigenous native Americans. They are not Asian but share a mix of Asian and European features. It is known to be and was a custom amongst Native Americans to assimilate captives from enemies, other tribes and Columbian Europeans. In ancient times, right up to the time of Columbus and Pilgrims and beyond, native American tribes valued human life, where ever it came, and would replace a lost relative from war or other death with those whom they found. It was needed for the cohesion and survival of the tribe. So Solutreans were here first, then Asians, then a mixing by necessity and culture. Let’s not be racist but scientists in our endeavors and can’t we all just get along?
