A half-hour documentary that weaves soldiers’ recollections of violence and “collateral damage” with political leaders’ Newspeak about war and peace. The media shapes a reality of violence and spiritual baseness.

Look a little known part of American history in a story that aired on WJLA-TV Washington in February 1990. American Indians owned slaves. What’s the moral of the story? People in power owned slaves , regardless of their race or the race of the enslaved. Too often slavery is made into a black vs. white issue. It should be a human rights issue.

How about the blacks that owned slaves. The first black man that was a slave for life was owned by a black man. What about the black plantation owners that owned white and black slaves. The truth is, whites are more likely to be descendants of slavery than blacks.

How could it be? I thought only white people could do evil and that all non-whites were perfect children of god.

Why is it that the one group who were the slaver traders out of Newport, RI and Charleston, SC are always left out of the discussion? Hmmm… Good work, but keep diggin…

In ancient times, the slave traders in what is today’s Russia used to make raids into the areas now known as Poland, Ukraine, Slovokia, Czech Republic to capture people to sell into slavery. The buyers came from as far as the Middle East.

That’s why they are called the Slavic States.
